This DownloadPins DMCA Policy explains how we handle copyright complaints. DownloadPins respects the intellectual property rights of others. We do not host any Pinterest content on our servers, the tool simply reads publicly accessible pin pages, but we take copyright complaints seriously and respond to valid takedown notices.
How DownloadPins works (context for complaints)
DownloadPins does not store, copy, or re-host Pinterest media. When a user pastes a pin link, our server fetches the public pin page and points the user to the media file Pinterest itself provides. We have no ability to remove content from Pinterest, only Pinterest can do that. If your work appears on Pinterest without permission, you should also file a complaint directly with Pinterest through their copyright report form.
Filing a takedown notice
If you believe content accessible through DownloadPins infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Notice” and include all of the following:
- Your full name and contact information, including email address and phone number.
- Identification of the copyrighted work, describe the work you claim is infringed (e.g. title, URL where the original appears).
- The pin URL(s) involved, the full Pinterest link(s) and a description of the infringing activity.
- Good-faith statement, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy statement, a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your signature, a physical or electronic signature.

What happens after you file
- We review the notice for completeness (usually within 3,5 business days).
- If valid, we take appropriate action, which may include blocking the reported pin URL(s) from resolving through our tool.
- We may notify the affected user and inform them of the complaint.
- We keep a record of the notice as required by law.
Counter-notices
If you believe a takedown notice was filed against your content in error, for example, you own the rights or your use is fair use, you may send a counter-notice to the same email address including your contact details, identification of the material, a good-faith statement, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts. We will review counter-notices and may restore access if appropriate. Misrepresenting infringement in a notice can carry legal liability, so both sides should be careful and truthful.
Repeat infringers
We may restrict or terminate access for users who repeatedly misuse the service in connection with infringing activity, in line with our Terms of Service.
Abuse of the notice process
Knowingly filing false takedown notices is unlawful and may expose the filer to liability for damages. Please ensure your complaint is accurate before submitting.
